About Jason Nicholas
Architect · Artist · Sketchologist™
I'm an architect, artist, and Sketchologist™ who teaches the art of seeing through drawing. My work sits at the intersection of architecture, urban observation, and creative confidence.
By day, I teach architecture and CAD design to high school students, where I guide young designers through human-centered design thinking, project-based learning, and the messy, beautiful process of creating. I believe that everyone has something worth drawing, and that imperfection is not a bug — it's a feature.
By passion, I create original ink sketches of New York City and urban environments around the world. My loose-style approach captures architecture in real time — the crooked lines, the quick marks, the honest mark-making. These sketches are available through my gallery studio, each one a moment frozen on paper.
The INKspired Life is where I share it all: sketching techniques, urban sketching inspiration, tools and materials I love, and the creative confidence framework called the SKETCH framework. My mission is simple: help you sketch boldly, live intentionally, and embrace imperfection.
I also host the Simply Being Human : Permission to Exhale podcast, where I explore what it means to show up as your full, imperfect self in a world that demands perfectionism. Because creative confidence isn't just about art — it's about permission to be human.
When I'm not teaching, sketching, or creating, you'll find me exploring new cities with a pen and sketchbook, hiking in New Jersey, or having deep conversations over good coffee.

"Sketch boldly. Live intentionally. Embrace imperfection."
